Originally from India, Vijaya Sundaram came to the United States in 1988.  Her poetry and short pieces have appeared in several publications, including The Rising Phoenix Press, the Stardust Review, The Somerville Times, and TELL Magazine.  Her first collection of poems, Fractured Lens, was published in 2023 by Červená Barva Press.  Reverberations, her second collection, is scheduled for winter release by Ibbetson Street Press.  She was appointed Poet Laureate for the City of Medford, Massachusetts, and served in that capacity from 2023-25.  In this role,  she directed poetry clubs and open mics in her home city, while reading her poetry at civic and literary events throughout the Greater Boston area.  A musician, educator, and amateur digital artist,  she finds inspiration in music, poetry, nature, art, and animals.
