Spending time with plants
Makes you quiet and still,
Like young leaves growing.
You push clean, fresh dirt
In tender peat pots,
Pat down the surfaces,
And say a soft word
To each sweet seedling –
It matters not what.
It’s the plants that weave
A spell of kindness
As you sit with them.
And they grow for you,
And you wish them well,
For you know them all,
And you helped them grow.
You are reverent,
Life is all around.
